Synopsis:
Mou Dexian (Xiao Zhan), a machinist from the Jinling Machinery Factory, flees into the mountains with his family during wartime. There, they settle in “Gezhi Town,” where artillery officer Xiao Yan (Peng Yuchang) and a handful of abandoned soldiers have also taken refuge. Mou Dexian, his wife Xia Cheng (Zhou Yiran), his great-grandfather (Yang Xinming), and his young son briefly enjoy a peaceful, idyllic life — but the tranquility is short-lived. A small Japanese reconnaissance unit led by Okawara (Yin Zheng) unexpectedly arrives. What follows is a deadly confrontation where ordinary civilians rely on ingenuity and courage to face well-trained, heavily armed soldiers. Against overwhelming odds, can they protect the only home they have left?
